Preprint posting policy
Preprint Posting Policy
Cancer Biome and Targeted Therapy (CBTT) values the integrity and rigor of the peer-review process as essential to ensuring the scientific validity, reliability, and quality of published research. While recognizing the increasing role of preprints in facilitating early scientific communication, CBTT does not actively encourage the public posting of preprints before formal peer review and editorial evaluation.
Authors should be aware that preprints, defined as publicly accessible versions of scholarly manuscripts that have not undergone peer review, may lead to confusion among readers, clinicians, journalists, and the general public who may not fully appreciate the distinction between non-reviewed and peer-reviewed research.
The journal’s policy is as follows:
- Posting of preprints is not encouraged, but preprint posting does not disqualify a manuscript from consideration or negatively impact its evaluation.
- Authors must disclose all prior dissemination, including links to any posted preprints, at the time of submission.
- The final published version of record must be clearly cited and distinguished from any earlier preprint version.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that any preprint postings comply with copyright, funder, and institutional policies.
- Cancer Biome and Targeted Therapy disclaims all responsibility for the content, accuracy, or consequences of manuscripts previously posted as preprints. The journal is not affiliated with any preprint server and does not monitor or verify externally posted preprints. Any legal or ethical issues arising from preprint dissemination are the sole responsibility of the authors and the hosting platform.
